Biobanks conference: A full day of fact finding, meetings and matchmaking

Over 100 participants found out how to use health data as key assets in their EIT Health projects

Biobanks and registers can be true goldmines for innovators, but how do you get an overview over all of the different access rules, regulations, sample collections and data bases? And how, and with whom, can I turn this innovation potential into EIT Health proposals?

Those were the key topics for the conference “Biobanks and Registers. Your Springboard to Innovation ”, held in Stockholm on 21 October, where over 100 participants from all over Europe gathered to find information and meet potential collaboration partners.

Invited experts in registers and biobanks in Estonia, Denmark and Sweden presented key information on the national landscapes and access rules in their respective countries, and EIT Health Scandinavia presented how to use biobanks and registers data as key assets in your EIT Health proposals.

The two targeted match-making sessions saw an intensive activity, where representatives from industry, biobanks and registers, startups and academia got together to discuss project ideas and innovation proposals.
