New pandemics Call and amended timetable for BP2021

EIT Health Partners are now able to submit proposals on COVID-19 or other pandemics related topics for BP2021. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Calls for Proposals was amended on 14 April 2020 both to reflect new deadlines, and to offer new proposal possibilities. The amendments are spelled out in the Calls document, which can be downloaded below or in the BP 2021 Calls Page.

The main changes included in amended Call Document are an extension of the deadline for many types of proposals to 8 July 2020 and the addition of proposals addressing pandemics.
In light of the ongoing global pandemic, a new category of submissions is being solicited to address one or more topics related to prevention and management of the current, as well as potential future, pandemics. Expressions of interest for these special proposals are due on 27 May 2020.

New focus area: Addressing pandemics

Besides the six EIT Health Focus Areas, a new focus area is therefore added, “Addressing pandemics” Given the recent coronavirus spread and global pandemic of COVID-19, submissions are also welcome that address one or more topics related to the prevention and management of the current, as well as potential future, pandemics:
• Hinder disease spread and prevention of outbreaks
• Optimise screening and diagnosis
• Treat people better
• Healthcare organisation’s resource management, logistics and supply chains
• Data-driven initiatives
