EIT Health establishes office in Denmark
EIT Health establishes a representation office in Denmark, as from December. EIT Health Scandinavia now has offices in all of its three countries Sweden, Denmark and Estonia.
The new office in Denmark is an essential part of the strategy to strengthen the programmes and activities in all of the countries where EIT Health Scandinavia has Partners. In total, the European life science organisation EIT Health covers 18 countries.
The representation office will be located in Copenhagen Bio Science Park, COBIS. Joining EIT Health as Key Account Manager for Denmark is Per Horn, PhD, bringing with him a long experience of senior management roles within Danish and international life science R&D.
“Having a dedicated office in Denmark is key to implementing a strong strategy and promoting the proactive innovation collaboration within the Danish Partnership with the rest of Europe”, says Trine Winterø, Vice Dean of the Medical Faculty at Copenhagen University and Dep. Chairman of EIT Health Scandinavia. “It is also important for developing synergies with the strong Danish life science ecosystem, which will lead to more opportunities and better innovations both for EIT Health Partners and for start-ups.”
The Danish EIT Health Partners are leading organisations within higher education, industry and the public sector: the Capital Region of Denmark, Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen University, Denmark’s Technical University and Novo Nordisk.

“With a stronger presence in Denmark, we will be able to maximise the use of EIT Health as a European arm for Danish life science, and increase the opportunities, not the least for the vibrant start-up community”, says Jørgen Schøller, Head of Division at DTU Health Technology, and EIT Health Scandinavia Board Member.
The COBIS Science Park is located close to the Copenhagen University Hospital, and the Copenhagen University’s Faculties for Health Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences. COBIS is a part of the the high-level innovation district Copenhagen Science City, together with other start-up communities, research institutions and with City and Regional administration.
“I am very glad to be able to establish this office in Denmark, says Erik Forsberg, Managing Director of EIT Health Scandinavia. A distributed organisation is essential for working close to the Partners, and ensure we have the best possible funding and network organisation.”
